Boxing is considered a combat sport with the participation of two fighters that have the objective of hitting each other until there is a winner.
This sport is ruled by norms that indicate that only the fists with gloves can be used, and contact is only from the waist up, meaning the head and torso, being forbidden hitting the neck or the lower part of the body, kicking the opponent, or throwing headers.
The combat takes place in a squared ring, in short sequences called rounds and according to a precise regulation, which regulates weight categories and duration of the match, including other aspects.
For men’s boxing, the combat time is that of three rounds, each of them being three minutes, controlled by a referee who guides the boxers.
In women’s boxing, the duration is that of 4 rounds of 2 minutes each. Wins the one who manages to get the knockout hit or in case of no knockout being registered, the jury defines who wins.
