Integration to the Games
The first phase will begin with the authorization of the registration form on October 1, 2021, and the second phase will begin on May 16, 2022.
It is important to anticipate that the application form will have five sections which must be completed in its entirety and for this have a prudent time for its correct development. To complete the registration process, you must attach a document-type photo, vertical, white background, in jpg png format.
As an ASUNCION 2022 Volunteer you will have all the guarantees to carry out the functions, such as training, certifications, clothing, insurance, transportation and food.

Law 660 of June 13, 2018 - WHICH REGULATES VOLUNTEERING, aims to recognize, define, regulate, encourage and facilitate voluntary citizen participation in non-profit organizations, private organizations whether national, foreign or mixed and public institutions in Paraguay.
The word voluntary is derived from the Latin word "voluntas", which means will. We adopt the definition of a volunteer as a person who "freely undertakes to carry out an unpaid action to benefit others, outside of their work and family time" (Chéroute, 1989).
An action can only be considered volunteer work if these five conditions are met:
Volunteers are committed people (Notion of Commitment)
Of your own free will (Notion of Freedom),
Without expecting any return (Notion of a Non-Profit Action),
In an organized action (Notion of Belonging to a Group or Structure)
To serve the community (Notion of Common Interest).
In general, volunteer work gives volunteers the satisfaction of doing something for the general good, a goal, and a place in society. You can fulfill a variety of wishes, such as expanding the circle of friends and acquaintances, gaining experience, gaining new skills, and gaining recognition through helping others.
The volunteers of the XII South American Games Asunción 2022 will show the hospitality of the Paraguayan citizen and their performance will mark the ability to work towards common and social benefits, being transforming agents of change for their community, their city and for all South Americans. Young people, adults, the elderly and people with disabilities will be volunteers, who without monetary compensation will support this great event with their time, work and talent.
ASU2022 will be part of history! And each volunteer will be an important part. You will be part of history!
The ASU2022 South American Games will take place mainly in Asunción, Luque and some events in San Bernardino, Encarnación and Ciudad del Este.
Volunteers will be the living force that will make possible the development of sporting events and for this reason this sports project has as a challenge, not only to develop the established sports tasks, but also to contribute to sports, economic and social development, leaving a trained human resource with a commitment to collaborate efficiently in strengthening the sector, prepared to assume leadership tasks, and with competencies in civic culture to intervene in multiple tasks of society.
The first edition of the South American Games was held in La Paz, the administrative capital of Bolivia, in November 1978. Since then, the Games have been held every four years in various cities in South America. The last edition was held in Cochabamba (Bolivia) in 2018. The city of Asunción (Paraguay) will host the XII edition of the South American Games in 2022.
ASU2022 will become the sports capital of America and will receive the generation of athletes who will give everything to represent their country with dignity in 37 qualifying disciplines for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games. As a Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to share with people of different ages, professions , cities and countries that will decide to give their time and effort to be the best hosts.
As a volunteer you will access different sports venues in Asunción and its surroundings and also in other cities of Paraguay fulfilling your duties according to the area.
ASU2022, host of the Games, will be recognized by the international community as a place conducive to great gatherings. PARAGUAY can! You will be part of the volunteer legacy for ASU2022! Your participation will fill us with pride!
To be a volunteer for this great sports event you need to be 18 years of age or older, with a minimum availability of 10 days. Have a personal, thoughtful and responsible decision, which will lead to a freely assumed commitment motivated by solidarity, generosity and interest, to carry out the assigned tasks with all the good attitude to be the best representative of Asunción.
You will perform different functions according to the functional area in which you want to live this great experience.
Through the trainings you will have general and detailed knowledge about each one of the areas, which will allow you to have a wide panorama of selection, where you will always give the best of you.
Being a volunteer for the XII South American Games ASU2022 you will have what is required for the best performance of your duties:
You will live an unparalleled experience by having the possibility of interacting with people from 15 countries in South America, with whom you will also practice your languages, in case you have command of several languages.
You will have a social and sports work experience that will strengthen your resume and expand your network of friends and contacts locally and internationally.
You will be part of the social legacy in volunteering for the coming years, contributing to the development and positioning of Paraguay.
The South American Games are a multidisciplinary sporting event in which athletes from all South American countries except French Guiana participate. Some Caribbean countries also participate. They are organized by the South American Sports Organization (ODESUR).
One of the characteristics of the South American Games is to compete with Olympic sports and also include others that are not on the Olympic Games program, such as karate.
ODESUR's objective is: To ensure the four-yearly holding of the South American Games in the manner provided for in the Organization's Regulations, which must be held two years after the organization of the Summer Olympic Games.
