Medical staff of the Asu Games meet with representatives of ODESUR

Today members of the Organizing Committee of the XII South American Games Asuncion 2022 greeted Dr. Orlando Reyes, medical representative of the South American Sports Organization ODESUR.

The meeting is part of the organization chart traced with ODESUR, which aims to review and setup all the advances made in the medical area of the Games.

For the execution of the XII South American Games Asuncion 2022, the medical staff of the Games, next to the staff of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, the National Sports Secretariat and the National Anti-Doping Organization, find themselves setting up the next care centers for the Games.

The aforementioned care centers will be equipped to provide the best help to athletes, volunteers and general public in the two big clusters of the Games; the National Sports Secretariat and the Paraguayan Olympic Committee.

There will also be emergency medical care centers in the other venues of the games, located in Asuncion, San Bernardino, Encarnacion, Ciudad del Este and others.

The SND and COP clinics are expected to be equipped with enough capacity to supply the basic needs required during the development of this great continental competition. In case that the injury suffered were serious, work will be done at the hospitals in the area, called “Hospital de los juegos” (Hospital of the Games), which will provide priority attention to the Delegations and Athletes.

Word of Dr. Orlando Reyes: “All advances that the local organization group has in the medical aspect of the South American Games have been presented. The evaluation made of these presentations is that the organization Asu 2022 has a very good team, great experience and above all very important advances in each of the areas that we evaluate”.
