WHAT AREAS OF VOLUNTEERING WILL BE MANAGED?

We will have more than 10 functional areas in which you can leave a mark with your enthusiasm, commitment and knowledge from the knowledge acquired at school, university or work. In each area of ​​the organization you will live the best experience giving your all and leaving a legacy that will endure over time:
 
Several types of volunteering and the characteristics of their profiles have been established:
 

  • Sports Technique Volunteer (VTD): Assistance at the Sports Venue that facilitates the good performance of the event by providing assistance in the specific activities of each sports competition. This area will be in charge of supervising and supporting the development of all the competitions that will take place.
  • Volunteer for Lodging, Food and Transport Assistance (Sports Logistics) (VLD): Assistance in coordinating meal times and as a link with the hotel and the referent, and in transfers to and from sports venues and other facilities. Adequate nutrition and proper rest are two essential aspects regarding the performance of an athlete. The volunteers in this area must be in charge of the prompt and efficient attention to these special needs and requirements, in addition to solving problems arising within their volunteer work. It is essential to guarantee efficiency and safety in the transportation of the delegations from their arrival, return, and transfer to their respective sports venues, so that the competitions take place regularly, complying with the schedules. Volunteers must coordinate the transportation of the delegations, taking into account the number of people and the capacity of each available vehicle, based on the schedule table provided.
  • Volunteer Assistance Volunteer (VAV): Volunteers support the games and this area supports volunteers. The effective performance of the volunteers is essential for the development of the Games to be carried out as planned, so these volunteers must ensure the well-being of the volunteers, from the satisfaction of their basic needs as individuals to support in the optimal job performance.
  • Health Emergency Volunteer (VES): Responsible for promoting voluntary and supportive help in emergency situations, such as self-protection of health and risk prevention. Performs first aid tasks until the arrival of professional care, and provides fundamental prevention guidelines. It supposes a joint work between health professionals and the community. The medical area will be the first line of action in case of any urgency or emergency, there will be small reaction groups in each of the sports venues that will have tasks from support in first aid care to doping control.
  • Protocol Volunteer (VPR): The volunteers in this area will be in charge of assisting in the development of all acts of Ceremonial Protocol and sports protocol of the Games, welcome events, reception of athletes, competition awards, opening and closing ceremonies. These volunteers must have the ability to resolve any contingency that may occur in their area of ​​management.
  • Event Logistics Assistance Volunteer (VAL): This event will have a large influx of spectators, athletes, judges and technicians, so the correct management of their location and time of completion of tasks within the sports venues is essential.
  • Volunteer Attention to the NOCs (VAC): Liaison between the delegations and the Organizing Committee of the event. They must be fluent in the language of the country of the delegation to which they have been assigned. Preferably these volunteers will be people related to the skills, training or activities of the groups they accompany.
  • Press Volunteer (VOP): They will offer assistance and collaboration in the Press Center. The activities related to the press and communication generate various functions, designed to optimize and stimulate the good performance of journalists and people affected by the communication, dissemination and transmission of the event. The XII South American Games Asu2022 are an event of such magnitude that it attracts a large number of face-to-face spectators and non-face-to-face followers who are informed by local, national and international media, who must coordinate their work in press centers, photographers' areas, conference rooms, mixed zones, social networks and others.
