On Sunday, the South American Fire passed from relay to relay from the Costanera de Asuncion Jose Asuncion Flores to the Pantheon of Heroes, emblematic places of the capital.  

The relays that were part of this section were the medalists of the ODESUR Games of 1978, Gold medal in Soccer, besides Olympic athletes, Julián Coronel, Vicente Escalante, Hugo Caballero, Arnaldo Vera, Óscar Surián, Cándido Giménez, Máximo Almada, Carlos Olmedo, José Luis Ruiz Diaz, Ricardo Valinotti, Raúl Navarro, Librado Rodríguez (Br. ), Reinaldo Molas, Aldo Serafini, Emiliano Salcedo, Ángel Bogado (Br. ), Tino Scarpetta, Vero Prono, Marcos Prono, Virginia Báez, Pedro Cornet, Diego Ferreira, Patricia Wilka, Willian Wilka, Vicente Bergues, Daniel Sosa, Óscar Diesel, Jorge Campos, Víctor Hugo Sánchez, Abraham Acevedo, Alfredo Coello, Rubén Ruiz Díaz, officer Guillermo Agüero, second officer Santiago Martínez, Ezequiel Martínez (FFAA) and Florencia Galeano (FFAA).  

In the afternoon, the exciting journey of the South American Fire, which spreads the spirit of the sport began with a great call of the public that with great joy and enthusiasm accompanied by a party organized by Vision Banco on Santa Teresa Avenue, from there the cavaravan departed until it reached the Paseo La Galeria, where the fire was lit.  

The cavaravan departed from there to Paseo La Galeria, where the cauldron was lit in the middle of a party with live music and a huge public present. 

In charge of this itinerary were Silvia Bracho, Verónica Caballero, Gabriela Rejis, Rafael Silva, Jorge Riveros, Érika Mongelos, Gonzalo Melgarejo, Michelle Valiente, Jorge Riveros, the president of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP) Camilo Pérez López Moreira, the General Coordinator of the ASU2022 Games Ricardo Deggeller, the president of the Special Olympics of Paraguay Luis Cáceres and the president of the Paraguayan Paralympic Committee Juan Manuel Fernández.  

Also, the presidents of federations, confederations: Lorena Veiluva, Juan Carlos Orihuela, Alcides Acosta, Guillermo Alonso and Miguel Paredes. 

Also present were: Julio Ferrari, Renzo Ferrari, Eduardo Yulita, Santiago Ochipinti, Javier Rojas and Raúl Codas. 

Also present were the heads of national clubs and organizations such as: Hugo Mersán, Óscar Ramírez, Isaac Gutiérrez and Wilfrido Colmán.  

With great emotion, the relays carried the dreams of the athletes symbolized in the South American Fire that is getting closer to conclude its journey and ignite the fervor of the delegations of the 15 countries participating in ASU2022.  

In this way, the South American Torch continues its journey that will end in the cauldron that will be located in the Defensores del Chaco, where it will open a Games never seen before in the country and that will bring an incredible economic injection to the country.
