The Monitoring Commission of the South American Sports Organization (ODESUR) is in our country to monitor the organization of the XII South American Games Asunción 2022.

After an informative meeting to update and progress to date, held yesterday, the Monitoring Commission participated in a tour this Friday of the different scenarios under construction and existing for the ASU2022 Games.

The itinerary began at the National Sports Secretariat, where they visualized the progress of the Gymnastics Pavilion; Next, the delegation went to the National Aquatic Center (CAN), home to water sports such as swimming, diving and polo; and finally, they visited the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP), there they verified the Velodrome, the Soccer and Hockey fields, the BMX Freestyle and Race tracks, the Skate Park, the Shooting Range and the Bochódromo.

The president of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, Camilo Pérez López Moreira; Mario Moccia, president of the ODESUR Monitoring Commission; Miguel Ángel Mujica, president of the ODESUR Infrastructure Commission; Mario Cilenti, Executive Director of ODESUR; Fabio Ramírez, Technical and Development Director of ODESUR; Jorge Delgado, president of the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee; Renzo Manyari, president of the Peru Olympic Committee; María Soto, president of the Venezuelan Olympic Committee; and Marco Arze, Augusto Morán, Damaris Young and Rogério Sampaio, members of the ODESUR Monitoring Commission; and Ricardo Deggeller, the general coordinator of the ASU2022 Games.

At one point, the members of the Monitoring Commission burst into applause after observing the great progress of the Velodrome, the flagship stage of the ASU2022 Games and the first of its kind in our country, and can even host world competitions.

“We are better than last time, there is no doubt about it. What surprises me the most and I am very happy, very happy is for the Velodrome that is finished and it was also spectacular”, Mujica said after the tour.
