Visit of the ODESUR Monitoring Commission in Paraguay

On Thursday, July 7, the activities of the Monitoring Commission of the South American Sports Organization (ODESUR) began, which is visiting our country again, with a view to the XII South American Games Asunción 2022 that will take place from October 1 to 15. 

The entourage of this Commission, made up of the president of the ODESUR Monitoring Commission Mario Moccia, the executive director of ODESUR Mario Cilenti and the Technical and Development director of ODESUR Fabio Ramírez, participated in an update meeting with the Organizing Committee of the ASU2022 Games.

This activity was accompanied by the minister of the National Sports Secretariat (SND) Diego Galeano Harrison, the president of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP) Camilo Pérez López Moreira, the General Coordinator of the ASU2022 Games Ricardo Deggeller and the directors of the different Functional Areas of the organization of the ASU2022 Games.

Moccia said that the ODESUR Monitoring Commission feels part of the organizing team and stressed that the objective is to continue advancing towards the goal that is the opening of the ASU2022 Games.

"We feel part of the team, we are going to move forward and we continue to move forward," said Moccia, after words of welcome from the Minister of Sports and the president of the COP.

As focal points, the achievements obtained since the last visit of the Organizing Committee in May were presented. In addition, presentations were made in the areas of Technology, Host Broadcast (Television Rights), Volunteer Program, Marketing and Communication, Sports, Venue Operation, Lodging, Food, Transportation, Security, Medical Services, Doping Control, Protocol and Ceremonies. .

The meeting ended this Thursday afternoon, but the activities will continue tomorrow after the arrival of the president of the ODESUR Infrastructure Commission, Juan Ángel Mujica, who, together with Moccia, carried out a verification and updating tour of the different venues and sports venues existing and under construction.
