The Minister of the National Sports Secretariat (SND) Diego Galeano confirmed the Defensores del Chaco Stadium as the venue where the official opening of the XII Asunción 2022 South American Games will take place.

94 days before the opening of the ASU2022 Games, Galeano visited the facilities of the Defensores del Chaco Stadium together with directors of the Paraguayan Football Association (APF) and the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP).

There, the sports minister confirmed this emblematic sports venue of our country as the setting for the grand opening ceremony of this historic event that will take place from October 1 to 15 of the current year.

This confirmation also determines the place where La Llama Suramericana, whose arrival and tour of the country begins in September, will end its itinerary. More than 7,000 athletes and sports officials from 15 member countries of the South American Sports Organization are expected at this ceremony.

It will be then when, in front of the great public gathered at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium, the torch will light the cauldron that will start the largest multi-sport event in our country.
