Karate is a sport where the karateka tries to get the victory by making hits with the hands and legs. For its scoring  there are key factors to be taken into account which are: Speed, strength, balance, rhythm. Solid, clear and strong movements and power of the hits.

Within this sport there are two disciplines: Kata and Kumite.

Kata
Sequences of established movements that go from 20 to 70 or even more movements, can be practiced both individually and in pairs or in groups in a martial arts class. Kata is considered as a gestures base that contains or complements itself with others.

Kumite
It means to “interlock hands” or “combat” in Japanese, and, together with kata and kihon, it constitutes a fundamental element within the practice of karate.
Kumite is a combat in which some of the practiced techniques in kihon or in kata are applied in a face off with a real opponent and has the purpose of adding the highest number of points in the time of each combat.
