Horse riding is a passionate sport, the success of it demands a complete harmony and trust between man, woman and the animal, with the rider communicating with its hands over the reins, the legs and the changes of body weight to cheer the horse on responding. In fact, the qualities of the horse are tested at the same level as that of the athlete.

In the XII South American Games Asuncion 2022 we will witness the disciplines of Training and Jump.

Training
It is considered as the art of the equestrian sport and it 's the base for the rest of the disciplines. It puts the horse and the rider’s capabilities to show their athletic skills as well as their supreme elegance examining, for example, the capacity of a rider to make their horse move faster from one side to another, burst out on a gallop or change direction immediately, using subtle orders.

When the horse and the rider are in perfect harmony, there is something of beauty hard to forget. However, this level of unity while competing takes years of experience, requires control and consumed knowledge.

Jump
It is the spectacular combination of bravery, control and tactical skill, to complete a run of placed obstacles in a specific order. There is a penalty for each obstacle that is not passed or that is avoided. Also there is a penalty of time for exceeding the time limit, depending on the qualification round.

In each competition, the athletes face a new unique run that defies the communicative and technical capacity of the athlete with the horse. The runs include double and triple bars, water jumps and simulated rock walls. Aesthetically, the runs are usually decorated with local and cultural thematics, which leaves an unforgettable memory of the competition to all fans and spectators that will enjoy it from home.
