Table Tennis is a racket sport where two players (individual) or two pairs (doubles) play on a rectangular table, with wooden rackets and plastic balls, depending on the skills and speed of the competitors, matches can easily last about an hour.
The beginnings of this sports arise at the decade of the 1870’s in England, as a derivation of tennis, its history is marked by technical evolutions that were developed as time went by; changes happened in the nature of the remake of the rackets, the size of the ball, the reduction of numbers both as games or introduction and afterwards the prohibited use of quick glues.
Team matches consist of four individual face offs and one of doubles, each of which are played to the best of five sets. Each team consists of three players and the matches finish when a team has won three individual games. In the doubles matches, the players have turns to hit the ball.
Unlike tennis, where the player serves during one whole match, in table tennis service is changed every two obtained points. Once the score reaches 10-10, serve changes every point. In doubles, besides the alternated serve between rivals, it is also altered between partners.
